This is how mass media worked.
And you had to go to a movie theater to see things like this,
It still makes me sad.
When I was fourteen I started reading the Congressional Investigation Into The Attack on Pearl Harbor. Forty volumes. Took me four years to finish that mass of documents, etc. I still don't feel like I know as much as I should about that day.
Chief, If you feel that way the rest of us ain't got a snowball's chance in Hades of ever scratching the dust off the book !
If that even made sense ??
Not too many survivors left. I guess it's up to people like us to keep the memory going.
I was fourteen and completely ignorant of the background material. Luckily I had a tame gunny sergeant near by to help me with the head scratchers.
To take a break from that I read Rise and Fall of the Third Reich.
Btw, I recall reading that Winston Churchill's was it diary or PM papers would be made public 2020. Did they do it or cancel it? Or did I misunderstood all? Thanx!
You can inquire at Her Majesty's Stationers Office, the National Archive of Britain.
