Apparently the author buys into the "third strike" hypothesis regarding the destruction of the fuel supplies. I'll wait for this one to hit the used book stores.

Figures! More books about the Navy. I'll probably break down and add one or two of these to the bookcase in any case. :) Thanks for the heads up.

Does anyone know of books on the Army Air Corps in the Pacific/SWPA? I keep threatening to write one and one day by golly ...........

Have you mined Hyperwar for source material for that book?

My laptop tipped over with all the bookmarks from HyperWar ! My "Go To" place :)

I'll agree it never gets tiresome, several hundred hours invested so far. Time consuming? That's another story ! PIcked up a few more anecdotes on some goings on of the 348th FG. Our seven months of Winter is about to start up here and maybe I'll actually begin to form a reasonable format.

Let me know if you need a proofreader or someone to take an early look. I'd be more than happy to help.

Prados book is a Prados book. I'm finding 5-10 things I didn't know before on each page. And the big show hasn't even started yet.

Prados has an impressive resume. Looks like he started with Nam, William Colby and the Pentagon workings and transitioned to the Pacific Theater WW2. He really must have dug into the after action interviews, survivor accounts and intelligence reports to find this much new information.

I read his excellent, "Valley of Decision" (Khe Sanh). The thorough coverage of The Battle of Lang Vei, among other stories, was very helpful.
