Found this nice pic of U-118, while I was searching for a pic of U-995. Anyone knows some facts about this Submarine?

    From u-boat.net:

    WWI U-boats
    U 118
    Type UE 2
    Shipyard Vulcan, Hamburg (Werk 92)
Ordered 27 May, 1916 Laid down
    Launched 23 Feb, 1918 Commissioned 8 May, 1918
    Commanders 8 May, 1918 - 11 Nov, 1918 Herbert Strohwasser

    Career 1 patrols start date unknown - 11 Nov, 1918 I Flotilla

Successes 2 ships sunk for a total of 10.439 tons (warships excluded).
Fate 23 Feb, 1919 - Surrendered. To have been transferred to France, but the tow parted and she went aground off Hastings on April 15, 1919. Broken up .

Photos of U 118 ashore at Hastings are common. Often, however, the boat in these pictures is incorrectly called UB 118

Given the amount of damage the WW1 U-boats did to the British merchant fleet, the large number of boats isn't really usrprising.

exept on christmas, they would run to each other over barb wire and mines to exchange presents :D , off course if one wasn't happy with his present ===> :bang:

end their my knowledge ends (exept when it comes to the little belgium army wich was standing behind the river "ijzer" (witch is dutch for iron)) but i know only that they flooded the river and waited for their allies to come.
