Unopened V-Mail dated July 23rd 1944

    This is something I obtained recently. To my knowledge it’s never been opened. The seal is unbroken and I can tell just by looking at it that it’s not been opened. I’ve been contemplating whether I should open it or not.

    That is a hard one.

    Can you see through the aperture who it is from?

    Have you considered finding the family?

    I looked through find the names in the area around Attleboro Mass, using Find-A-Grave. There were very few people named Wilkie there. I wonder if they are buried in Rhode Island, since it is so close?

    I wonder why it was an RFD address, but then has an actual street number and name? Here in the south RFD addresses were generally people who lived in the countryside and not in cities or towns.

    I found Carpenter Street on Google Maps. The lots in and around what would be 85 Carpenter Street are vacant and appear to be part of another lot number..
