My late Uncle James Hinton Graves Jr. was commander of the Talita in the second world war. Years ago his wife,my mother's sister, claimed that when he was in the south pacific the ship encountered a typhoon and all his jet black hair turned white due to that experience. If there are any navy men who were on board and can recall that episode I would appreciate that first hand account.
