I collect what the serious collectors cull because I am an infamous tightwad. However, if you are diligent, you can run across bargains. This is a shot of my growing WWII blade family, no knockouts here, but a bunch of honest service blades from the greatest generation. As you can see I like both the Cattaraugus Qs and the RH-36s.

To me, this is the ultimate utility knife of WW 2:

The TL 29 electrician's / utilityman's pocket knife. That stayed in US military service as an issue item into the 90's

My brother feels the same way about the TL-29, but I prefer the four-blade camp knives made by Camillus, Imperial, Colonial and others.

Maybe because I was an Electrician's Mate in the Navy I'm partial to the TL-29...

I had one of those when I was young ! Being eight or nine years old I didn't have a clue what I had in my hands  Then came Boy Scouts and got some cheap Swiss Army knife.

I was an MM. Was your knife issued or did you buy it at the ship's store?

Issued along with other tools, including the ubiquitous yellow handled screwdrivers by Irwin Tool Co.
