Vessel from Soviet tank

    Hello,
    Can someone help me to identify this vessel, it was captured by my great granddad from a Soviet tank. Im curious to know what the vessel has been used for and from which type of tank it originates.

    Welcome to WW2F.

    I'll guess, stress guess, that it is a part from the hydraulic recoil compensator that had a handle welded to it to make use of it as a water or oil can.
