I am interested to find and correspond via email with any former German soldier that may have spent time in the Camp Forrest POW camp located in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Additionaly, I would like to correspond via email with any german veterans of the war. If anyone on this forum can help in this matter, it will be greatly appreciated. I thought I could easily find veterans groups on the net, but this has not been the case so far. If anyone know where there is a web page of German Veterans groups, I would like that informationas well.

    Thanks!

[IMG] Thanks for the tip! I really wish I could find a vet that served his POW time at the camp in my hometown. [IMG]

CSA--good luck on that one--that is like trying to find the proverbial needle in the proverbial haystack. Unless of vourse--you have names to go with who you want to contact.

The only German POW that I personally knew--was a crewman on U 505 which was captured by our Navy. This man was a friend of mine til his sad passing in Feb of 1999. He was the last man off U 505 and was the one who "pulled the plug." His name was Hans Goebeler.

Hans Goebeler and his wife--lived here in Corpus Christi, Texas for some years. He was retired and was selling Mugs and other things that they made. He used to set-up at local Gunshows here to sell his things. His wife worked at a restaurant called: "Blackbeards" which is where the U.S.S.Lexington now sits near as a ship museum.
