This may sound strange but many of you don't seem exactly real to me (though I know that you are). Perhaps is's a symptom of too much interaction via the web? I'm very interested in all the different cultures, languages and opinions expressed here and it would be nice to sometimes actually hear you speak. Even photos don't seem real somehow when you have seen thousands of them on the web. It would be really nice if there were a way to post .wav files or someother way to hear some of you speak.
I would like to hear you speak in your native language as well as hear the wide variety of accented English. Alas it's not likely possible.

Am I alone in this notion?

Whose voice would I be most interested in hearing?
Ricky,Simon, Caroline and other Brits. Wonder if their British accents sound different or similar? I imagine merlin as having a very thick accent :D
Roel and other Dutch people most likely have little accent and speak quite good English, I imagine that is true of Skua and other Norwegians also.
    Me262- definitely TexMex :D

That are others I have wondered about as well that don't spring to mind at the moment.

    Hope I haven't offended anyone :D

    Not at all...

    Well, not me, anyway. ;)

It is an interesting idea... but I'm not sure how possible it is.

I left out Che and the German contingent.
I think a very thickly accented English is likely :D

I didn't really think it would be possible, just an exercise in imagination.

    Very interesting. Thanks for explaining.

I have a southern accent. Not too strong, but noticeable. There are different American southern accents. Mine is of the Florida/Georgia flavor :D

Danyel Phelps knows what I sound like as we have spoken quite a bit using Teamspeak. This is a useful program for this kind of inquiry I'd say; all it takes is a tiny little download, a channel and a microphone and you can talk to each other.

Anyway, if you want to know if I have an accent, ask him. ;)

I think this is an interesting topic, really - there's plenty of cliches here as to what Americans and British people sound like but I have had very little experience with "real" people of either nationality. And I wonder if Ricky's Scottish mother has had any influence on his voice! :D

Well, Me262 posted a link for Skype, which, after talking to me262, seems to work nicely. It, too, only requires a small download and a microphone.

Anyways, it would be really cool to talk to all the members here, even if it is just on a phone. I have many long distance cards if anyone wants to talk that way?

I tell you what would be really nice is a decent chatroom. Cholbert! :p
