    This is my newest acquisition.
It is tied to an interesting history. I only knew 'Waldorf-Astoria' to be a fancy hotel in New York City, but it was actually a Cigarette Company in Germany. Beyond that, it is also where Waldorf Schools originated.
The first Waldorf school was opened in Stuttgart by the manager of the Waldorf-Astoria cigarette company for his employees children. The factory had be visited by Rudolph Steiner who spoke about his ideas on education. The workers asked their employers where they could find such a school, but none existed. Many schools started to pop up in throughout the 20s and early 30s. When the Nazis came to power they shut down most of the schools( although I read that Rudolf Hess liked the schools and tried to save them).
So to have this pack of cigarettes tied to these schools with a Nazi swastika 'of oppression' on it, I find very fitting.
