Glad it was a good one, urqh !

There was a good photo of the BBMF Lancaster in 'The Grauniad' on Monday...But what the UK airshow scene desperately needs is an axis fighter or two.... :(

did I tell you that there is a chap from Denmark with a hidden Bf 110G-4 from NJG 3 that he is restoring to working order ? he has the cockpit in readiness already and lamost donw with the radar configurations. All details have been added to the engines as well......! yeah this could be interesting for future air show right ?

I hope so, Erich - there are various rumours of FW190s, 109s, Buchons , etc nearing completion and of course, a fair-sized cache of unused DB601 engines has just emerged from the former Soviet Union.....

Martin 'my lot' weren't there. she seems to at least have a market because Warpaint was the only company there selling paint. I enjoyed the modelling tent. The Accurate Armour stand could have quite easily burnt my wallet. The militaria was good. the best piece i saw was an original german death head hussar uniform going for £6000

It's the 'little things' I like finding at Beltring. This year my 'haul' included ; -

    - An original MP44 take-down tool
    - A 3cm AP round
    - 25 unfired, deac German 9mm parabellum rounds, different headstamps
    - last but not least, after years of searching, an original box of deac 7.92mm kurz ammo, matching headstamps and box label all in mint condition

There, didn't break the bank, did it ? ;)

My unit was there but I could not make it, only got back from camp earlier today, it sounds like it was a good stand though. I am sorry I missed it.

Those pictures are awesome, I went to the event website and spent hours looking at more of them. Its been a while since my last real reenactment so I kinda need a military fix soon otherwise I start to go through withdrawl like a person on crack. Sefan, one day you have come out to the U.S and reenact with us. It would be a trip very much worth taking.

I have to go to the states sometime, I want to spend a month or so over there at least in the next few years. Actually I am having to ease off the living history stuff due to other commitments. Anyhow, I will keep the trip in mind, you have to make sure you come over here sometime and you can see how differently we do things on the other side of the pond, that goes for all non UK re-enactors on the forum.

Thanks Mahross ! Especially for the photo of the RAF Museum's Typhoon - if there is one aircraft in the world I'd like to add to my fantasy collection, that's the one.... ;)

    WOOHOOOOO!!!
No Kids, No Gurlz, half-deafened by broken engines, half-blinded by half-burnt diesel fumes, disorientated, buying landmines, falling over in shock at the prize of a Panzer cap, lying underneath vehicles arguing, standing next to vehicles arguing, choosing your favourite (colander Grant), Tartan skirts, trench systems, field hospitals, sunburnt, Pi**ed, Happy and talking Sh*t with fellow anoraks for several days all while covered in a thick layer of dust....
    It's BELTRING time again!!!!

I've now got three weeks to figure out what I 'need' ;) . Last years' star purchase was the near-perfect MK101/103 round for £20....

For me, the great thing about Beltring are the trade stands from Germany, Belgium etc which often have rare stuff which can be bought many times cheaper than on evilbay.
