Hi all, This is my latest diorama showing a scene in Magdeburg, Germany in April 1945. The scene shows German soldiers captured by infantry men of 30th Infantry Division. The diorama was inspired by this original foto taken in Magdeburg a this time. http://www.milsurps.com/images/imported/2011/07/4898172497_d5b28f3c51_b-1.jpg View attachment 22278 View attachment 22279 View attachment 22280 View attachment 22281 View attachment 22282 View attachment 22275 View attachment 22277
Awesome. The detail in the first picture and diorama is remarkable. Tough to see which is which. Do you cast the soldiers yourself?
Thanks man. The soldiers are retail kits but received some modifications in stance and equipment to fit in the scene.
Slipdigit that´s very interesting! Did he ever talked about that time or did he some writing like diaries or reports or whatever? This would be very very interesting for my current and/ or future work. Evenmore I´m member of a forum in Germany which is working on the military history of Magdeburg (all periods). There´s also a particular section covering WW2 and we are always looking for witnesses who may tell their story or may be available for an interview.
