    What a great picture of soldiers at rest. I always think of all the real fighting men who are lead into war by madmen, scheming politicians , zealots for multiple causes and gains and see men like this, regardless of sides as paying the price. These could be GIs, Brits, Poles, Russians . Good men caught up in a war not of their making. Heche, I would be very proud of that photo, I would museum mount it , no acid , and protect it from sunlight and by all means make some copies..Thank you for posting it.

    Nice picture, Hecke. I'm generally not a fan of colorization, but this is good. Wonderful that your grandfather is in it.

    A great photo. Your grandpa ever mention how many from the photo survived? I always found it fascinating and eerie at the same time when looking at photos such as this?
