I have on record the 2 Cm FlaK shells as having 110 grams of H.E content. But what was the weight of the H.E content of the 37mm FlaK shells used by the Germans circa 1941/2?
Are you sure about that 110 grams HE-content of 2cm Flak? That sounds way too much. 110 grams is quite normal weight for whole projectile while HE-content is usually in 5-10% range of whole weight. Therefore I presume you have a bit wrong weight there. Edit: forgot to answer to your original question: dont know.
Sorry, yes you are right, I put the decimal point in the wrong place when doing my calculations! The overall weight is 120g & the H.E filler weight is 11g. WELL SPOTTED. THANKS.
According to Hogg, the standard 3,7cm Sprgr patr L'spur 18 weighed 635g and contained about 24g PETN. This is less than the usual filling ratio of about 10% because of the space used up by the tracer. Tony Williams: Military gun and ammunition website and discussion forum
