Has anyone ever used the Axis History forum? If so, what do you think of it? Would you so it is a good forum to compliment this one? I personally like it as it covers upon the Axis side since I think the reports on the Axis side(excluding the USSR) were not as well documented as the Allies.
Used to be fairly good, but for the last few years more and more the interest has been social harmony rather than hard historical fact. Trolling is okay, but don't dare to call a troll a troll there. The end result is few quality posts and even fewer quality posters there.
Used to be a member, but got sick of a minority trying to claim the Allies supposedly committed worse atrocities than the Nazis, who apparently were just misunderstood.
One needs to take care of staying out of the clutches of the fan-boys, the uninformed who think they are and the "I never met a German weapons platform, real or imagined, that was not a war winner" types. Otherwise there are sometimes some interesting discussions, though, alas, rarely on Pacific Theater naval type things which some of us prefer.
I do a lot of online searches for information about obscure weaponry. Axis History Forum comes up fairly often, and I find some good information in the posts there.
I generally use it when it comes up through search engines. The few times I have, the conversation took odd turns. I find that the Reich politics discussion leaves much to be desired.
I used to look at AHF regularly, but got tired of some of the BS and haven't visited for quite a while. Had forgotten about it - guess I should go back and have a look. Sarge
It's a wild and wooly place, I visit it regularly. Read more than post, but that's par for the course.
I am a member of the AHF and contribute to it as well as this forum and www.ww2talk.com Different emphasis and membership
