For several days now every time I tried to log on I would get a message saying that the site was unavailable as servers were being changed.

Then this morning I log on here and all the cool graphics are gone and well to be honest with you the site look pretty ghetto now compared to the way it was.

Can anyone fill me in on why the changes were made.

    Thanks

Okay, once I logged in which was required to post the above message I was allowed to see " new posts" and when I went to them I found the post " new look and feel".

Although I am not computer smart enough to understand why the format was changed I am smart enough to understand that there must of been a good reason and to say thanks to all who have been working hard to keep this place rolling - Thanks.

This new skin or look or whatever you call it cannot hold a candle to the "old skin" IMO

We went to the newest version of the forum software. Just think of it as buying a new car. It still gets you where you want to go, it just looks different.

Honestly, Ken, if you didn't notice the various virus warnings on the old site, you need to look into the security settings on your computer...

It got so bad, that I gave up trying to even comment on threads asking about the virus warnings.

I think it might have had something to do with which browser you used. Some seem to subscribe to Google's malware warning service: Firefox, Safari, and Chrome, for example.

Others do not: IE and Opera, for instance. (The former is not surprising. The latter is a bit surprising, but they might want more independence from Google than F or S.) I never found any trouble with a current version of AVG free or MalwareBytes. I also run Spybot Search and Destroy. It never turned up anything in relation to the site. I'm inclined to agree with Otto: the problem was likely restricted to machines which hadn't been sufficiently updated and Google's just playing it safe. That said, better to fix it.
