What if the war some how lasted just one year longer (January to December). You can add this year anywere you want.. How would it faired? Yes, its a very open topic, I just want you guys to pretty much make up whatever you want. I will say that Germany hold onto the Rhine hopelessly and the Japanese are reduced to there nation and the remnants in China/Manchuria.

The food situation in almost all of Europe was bad as it was. Japan also was facing starvation. So even without combat things would have been very bad.

Germany gets the A-bomb by way of being a test bed instead of Japan. The Allies get lots of neat new "toys" to try out on the Germans and Japanese who remain little more than ducks on a pond and its in season and there is no bag limit.

In all honesty, Germany was doomed, it could not hold out for another 12 months, Japan on the other hand could if nuclear weapons weren't deployed and Operations Olympic and Coronet has to take place sometime in mid 1946 as afar as the projected casualty rate would be astronomical. Projected casualties on both sides both militarilly and civilian would be at least 2 million.

I choose to add a year between 1917 and 1918. Since the Americans were not sending men to France, the German offensives split the British and French forcing the with drawal from the Continant, France sued for Peace and WW2 never would happen.
