DocCasualayly, dodn;t fulley understand yuo;re last statement yuo have made! "Doubt this will keep up for muche longer" are yuo saying there;s no more polish people in poland any more???
Yes Heidi, as Stefan stated. I'm guessing it is similar in other "melting pots", as it often is in the States. As different ethnic groups have immigrated here, initially their ties with the group of origin are quite close. As time and generations go on, it becomes less so. Despite my parents having been born in the US, I grew up with a lot of Old World traditions and customs. While my wife and I still keep up many of these traditions, I must admit things become more diluted over time. My parents grew up in neighborhoods where Polish was spoken more than English, not so the case with me or my wife. My childrens' meeting of others with similar backgrounds would be quite by chance.
50% Mexican (Dad's parents are from Juarez, Mexico), 25% Swedish (Mom's side), and the other 25% Norwegian (still Mom's side).....quite the brew isn't it special
I am 10% Irish , 10% Native American , and 80% Canadian....Add all that together and you get awesomeness
It is quite a scary thought, as I am mostly of Scots & English descent, of who I could be related to back in the old country.....yikes!
Yeah Jeff, who knows, you might develope an urge to bad mouth the septics, Ike, Patton and Sherman tanks.... You better get a second helping of grits and grillades to go along with that weak-a$$ American beer to fight it off....

I'm British, so therefore I've got Celts, Anglos, Saxons, Jutes, Normans, Viking, Picts, Romans, and various other tribes I'm too lazy to mention in my bloodline
