Did read about Ww2 some 30 years now. Started collecting in 2004. I just like to have items, pictures, medals etc that remind me of the time period and what people went through during those days. My main interest is with photo albums at the moment, and autographs.

For me. I have collected since I was 9. But I wasn't serious about it untill I was 13or 12. So I have collected about 8 years. But in the past year I have become intrested in helmets mainly. I thank my cousin for geting me into it.

Hi Pete, its addicting as hell, aint it? ;-)) My main focus is WWII German with a spradling of Imperial German dating betwen 1848 to 1918, and now a bit into the 1957 stuff.

    Hello Carl,
Nope, nothing for a General. Most everything is Luftwaffe.

Some people collect junk and are called pack rats. Some collect certain things and are called "collectors."

I am definitely the former. You should see my garage. I gather every bolt and screw thinking I might need them some day.

You want to see a "REAL" packrat-just visit my Brothers houise in Austin. That place is packed from floor to ceiling and wall to wall-with just barely a walking sl=pace between the stuff.

I thought i might get this thread moving again and say why i am collecting. I think what inspired me was that i saw a German Officer hat and i thought "I gotta have one of those"! It has been 5 years and i still haven't bought one though(Silly me). And i started collecting after i found my dads badges and stuff from when he served in the army(Sometime in the 50-60s). At first I collected what i could get a hand on, the local military surplus sale was at help. Although the first World War 2 Militaria i ever bought was a PFC patch.
