With the Old Breed: At Peleliu and Okinawa

    Finished reading With the Old Breed last night. Gripping stuff. I haven't done a lot of studying on the Pacific Theater of the war - my master's degree in history focused more on the European Theater. I now have a lot of reading to do, specifically on Peleliu and Okinawa.

    You should consider the book by Sterling Mace, one of our WWII Veteran members, that is mentioned earlier.

    I agree with Tommy. Read Mace's book for another perspective of a Marine rifleman.

    I ordered Mace's book last week and it showed up on Monday. I added it to my ever-growing pile. :)

    just read Old Breed, again...I usually find the pre-1970s books much better reads...but this was one of the best....1981???
