Any of you lot indulge in wargaming? I have been wargaming WW2 for the last 15 years and still aint got bored... But then I do mainly play the Germans, you never get sick of Tigers...
Coming from "Operational Art of War", I'm slightly on the path of becoming addicted to the "Strategic Command" PC-game. Best (war) game ever is playing the board game "Diplomacy" with friends on a hut in the mountains while getting drunk. Cheers,
Sure! Great fun! Sometimes though the ending can be a bit boring like with the latest edition of Panzer General ( I wonder why many games don´t have a good ending...)the "Scorched Earth" ( a couple of years ago ) after you apply your last move to crush the Russians the battle ends and if I remeber right it shows the battle wins and losses for both sides and simply goes back to the beginning info "Start new game etc ".Maybe a "the end" as well? With "battle of Britain" it only said "Congratulations!" With some Bf 109´s in the bakcground. Why not some nice film on ruling the great areas you have fought for? After all the hours on the game I feel a bit depressed when you just get the "The end "... Anyway, does someone have experiences of a great ending? I´d like to hear...
I love war games for computer and other video games! But according to my beloved and my mother I become addicted very easily, so they do not allow me to have many... I love the game "Cossacks. European Wars" Like "Age of Empires" but a thousand times better, and of centuries XVII and XVIII. I loved "Close Combat III" and all "Medal of Honour" versions.
Doesnt close combat the market garden issue, give movies after action report type of things, with the winner being called to Berlin for further missions, or whatever if your German side?
I know about the addiction thing. I tell myself I'll play maybe a half hour and before I know it its an hour and a half I'm smart though I haven't played in a couple weeks with work so busy this time of year. Greg
