WW2 HAA battery at Hunshelf, Sheffield - colour film footage

    At first the gun site was operated by locals before full time soldiers from the midlands and the south took over, and it was closed after two years to be transferred to the south coast where it was more needed.

    The link contains some nice, clear colour film footage of the personnel who manned the anti aircraft battery during WW2.

    great bit of film - thanks :) can see where 'Carry on England' might have got some inspiration ;)

    Judging from the meal time film footage, it looks like the people who manned the HAA battery were well fed.

    They were probably playing the game of rounders/baseball to burn off a few calories. :D
