My ex wife was in Israel on the early 50's she brought home pix of some ww2 French tanks knocked out on a Kibbutz when the arabs attacked in the 1948 war for independence. dont know how the arabs ended up with ww2 French tanks but they had many of them. possibly the Germans left them behind.
Those Hotchkiss tanks were bought from France. Some of them also were captured from Syria. There is a thread about them in the Tanks section.
