I'm no expert but, as with all collecting, value usually depends on how common the item in question is. Many, many guns were made during WW2 and this should reflect the value of all but the rarest examples.

I believe an average price for a Luger P08 (WW2 issue) is around £600-700
and for a P38 about £300 depending on condition ect.....
Thompsons awhile ago were running low in the de-act markets in Britain untill hundreds were found in a Russian mine and now the price has decreased on them. So as long as new hidden stocks like this turn up its hard to judge how rare a weapon is.

P-38's are quite common place. Lugers are more valuable and more collectable.

WW2 pistols are always more expensive and collectable than rifles. Pre war and WW2 made M-1911 pistols are bringing close to $1000 in good condition.

In gun collecting, the most important issues are originality, condition, popularity, and rarity.

Actually, the P38 i mentioned before drops the clip out of the chamber when you try to fire... I suppose it cannot be repaired... :-?

    sword

Rak75. is it yours? if so what markings on blade? It's a fairly common pattern both WW1 and WW2. Any engraving on the blade,? by the lack of swastika's I think it's WW1., it looks like Imperial Eagle on pommel. I used to have large collection but sold them off or passed on to family.
    Here's one of our collection.
