Doe's any of the forum members know why the Germans changed thier aircraft markings from the Maltese style cross to the Latin style cross in the middle of the war ? The only explainion I have read is to improve aircraft identification but if that is true then why did the Germans use the Latin style cross in WWII and then change back to the Maltase style cross for it's current airforce ?

TA, I can answer that for you tomorrow unless Erich notices this thread. We both have an Osprey book that tells about the styles of the cross and when they were used. I don't have my book with me or I would let you know what it says.
