Hi there! I recently inherited 2 WWII knives belonging to my great uncle. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what they are and the value (if any). The larger one says "Case xx" and measures 14" end to end. The smaller says "CASE" all caps and measures 9" end to end. I also dont know if i should clean them, leave them the way they are or have a professional clean them. Thanks!![IMG]

The Smaller is a US Navy MK1 Utility knife and the intention was that every sailor would be issued this knife.

The larger one is a V-44 Survival Knife issued in the the survival gear to Air Crews.

Don't clean or sharpen either one. A light oil on the blade such as CLP or Break Free and mineral oil, baby oil on the leather handle and saddle soap on the scabbard especially if they are dry.

The value of the MK I is anywhere from $50-150
the V-44 could bring anywhere between $150-300
