Beam, WWII vet, dies at 91

When Beam volunteered for one year of military service, little did he know it would be more than three years before he would see his home again. At the age of 21, he arrived at Fort Thomas, Ky. to be inducted into the U.S. Army for training as a soldier. Nine months later the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, Germany declared war on the United States, and Beam was sent into the midst of a world war.
