Would like to suggest a yearly vote on members in various categories. Lifetime Achievement, Most Prolific, Funniest, Best New Rookie, Most Read Post, Most Informed, Most Annoying :),etc. ..
I think peeps here who put a lot of time/ effort should be officially recognized. What do y'all think? Any categories I've missed?
We could call it the Penguin Awards? ... The Otto's ?

I am relatively new here, so not sure how much my input is worth, but if you go forward with this I kind of like the sound of The Ottos. It's got that whole "Oscars" vibe going for it, only this would be better, of course.

Thanks Clem. Thought it was a decent idea. Replies have been rather anemic though. Surprised nobody else has chimed in....I have preliminary results and you are way ahead in the Most Attractive award.

    give it time, Poppy.

I think it would be a good thing to do, although I do not want to be responsible for implementing it.

Good Idea. There are a several contributors here whose knowledge can only be described as encyclopedic.
It would be really great if an award gave a heads up that a certain person's contribution is normally particularly noteworthy and informative.

I'm not too sure that I would/could do some folks justice. For there are many who contribute much that I don't know about. I would feel real bad that someone was hurt just because their particular area of expertise is not one that I read.

There also could be the Troops Awards (popular vote), the Command Staff Awards (Mods and Trustees vote) and the Otto's Otto Award (some choice by Otto for someone doing something)

Missed this the first time around Poppy, too bad. Good idea. Wish it were implemented before Clint passed, he'd have gotten my vote.

This would have to be something approved by GroFaz. Be sure and see the second sentence of post #4.
