My favorite catcher, and a hero of mine, had been hospitalized since July 16th after suffering a fall was released from the hospital on Wednesday the 28th. He missed the Old-timer’s day and one of his favorite occasions at Cooperstown N.Y.

Berra has been an active participant at the Hall of Fame induction ceremonies for years, but has not gone to Yankee Stadium for the Old-timer’s Day many times after his falling out with Steinbrenner. He stayed away for many years but recently had been attending the occasion. He is 85, and in pretty good health all things considered.
