Hi there, I thought that I'd introduce myself before I bombarded this cornucopia of WW2 knowledge with questions and messages. My name is Chris and I'm a 29 year old Englishman, historian and aspiring film maker. I stumbled across this forum via a Google search while I was contacting journalists about articles they'd written about Dunkirk. I'm happy to have done so. My great grandfather served in the Welsh Guards and perished at Monte Cassino, Italy, where I was finally able to make the pilgrimage to visit the cemetery where he was buried in July. I recently returned from travels around Asia and Africa, and during this trip, I couldn't get a thought out of my head; To act on behalf of my generation and those to come, and make a film that presents the stories of those who served in/lived through the war in a way that is relevant. The project is picking up tremendous momentum and I will be travelling the East Coast of America next month to interview American veterans, followed by a trip to Poland and so on. Besides engaging in a forum that shares my interest in the Second World War, I come here seeking assistance. I look forward to e-meeting you all.
