I don't know if outrage would have been my first thought. To use a good ol' Southern term, it's tacky.
Sheriff shirt?? I call that "B" as in bull, and "S" as in scat. That is not just tacky. It is stupid.
I think the fuss over this top has a lot more to do with the intense sensitivity and offense-hungry nature of of our soshul meeja age than anything truly offensive, tacky, or even particularly reminiscent of the holocaust. Look at it in shrunken isolation on a web page surrounded by some negative comment and a holocaust cue or two - shock! Horror! Awful! Look at it in a shop, on a rack with dozens of other kids clothes - oh look, stripey with a sheriff's badge. In short. So what. Cutesy kid's top. Stripes not even going the same way as a camp uniform. What next. Ban stripey tops? No black, red & white clothes maybe? Yellow stars of any kind hidden from kid's view? The handbag is harder to explain. Lazy reference to Hinduism maybe... View attachment 21369
Oh, come on, VP. A sheriff's shirt with horizontal stripes? In the first place, they aren't slimming. Second, stars and stripes do not go well together... with one obvious exception, of course. :flag_USAwave: :flag_USAwave: :flag_USAwave:
Camp inmates wore stripe---up and down. These are hoops...round and round. Do people make this stuff up? Someone offended by this? find something of true substance to complain about FGS. When I was a teen, there were not near as many 'members' of the public in a constant state of flux between outrage and indignation. The advent of Political Correctness, (thankyou, Feminidt Movement) has engendered a section of society that goes from place to place being permanently outraged by one thing or another that would not even have rated a mention not so long ago. Why do these people feel the need for this insipid whining? If I went through life being shocked by everything, I would'nt be able to function.
