The type VIIC/41 would have one of two, the first being VIIC/3 Turm or the VIIC/4 Turm which was better known as the U-Flak High.

This site has a lot of pictures you may strike it lucky.

By the way this thread should be in the modelling forum. ;)

PS: I play Silent Hunter 3 and could post some screen shots of the Turms over the weekend for you if you feel that would be helpful.

depending on year you might want to stick with the 2cm zwillings and shields in the first set of graphics and then put either a shielded single 3.7cm or stick with the 2cm Flakvierling like on the U-Flak. this would bring you the most realism for your fine model during latter part of 1943 till wars end only resupplanted at the closing stages of the war with the single 3.7cm replaced by a 3.7cm Flak zwilling and shield but that was a rarity

great graphics Richard !! ~ very cool

Here's a nice pic buried deep in the link that Richard provided:

Interesting stuff. I'm definitley not a U-Boat guy (about all I really know about U-boats is that they were German military boats that went underwater and then come back up..... ideally, the same number of times for each activity.)

    What's a 'Turm'?

    -whatever

Here's a nice pic of U-995, the only Type VIIC in existence today. Evidently, it's on display in Laboe, Germany, and they will let you crawl around and play on it (ALWAYS a plus in MY book!)

BTW - one of the guys playing on it (the one in the black beret) - he was the last skipper of the U-995.

Side Question: What was the survival rate of WWII U-Boat skippers?

    -just curious

    -whatever

    -Lou

EDIT: Here's a nice list, by U-Number, of all of the Type VIIC/41 boats manufactured. Kinda handy when digging through the pics.

Lou great pic man ! you can see in the second U-boot the folded back shield and also in the other 3.7cm Fla gun and the typical twin 2cm weapons on both boots.

turm = tower, sometimes turret. so in the turm position you have the Fla pieces which is usually the smaller Flak guns of 2cm and 3.7 cm power
