I know we've had pictures of this amazing AFV before ( notably from Wessex Wyvern ) but I thought I'd revisit La Gleize last week to take a few of my own. Along with the Tiger I at Vimoutiers, this real veteran of the Bulge simply has to be one of the finest WWII relics in NW Europe. A true 'must see' on any enthusiasts' itinerary. Photography was actually quite difficult under a hot sun ( who was complaining ? It usually rains...) and with Museum founder M. Gerard Gregoire standing right behind me I wasn't about to start clambering all over it. Anyway, here goes : SS-Obersturmfuhrer Dollinger's Tiger II, Schwere-SS Abteilung 501 attached to Kampfgruppe Peiper as abandoned at the Werimont Farm in 1944 and as it appears today outside the La Gleize '44 Museum. And finally, a figure has been added to give scale.....
Great pics and at least this one is'nt covered with graphiti like the Vimoutiers one. Where's your Panzer outfit Martin, I thought these were black not kaki ?
well at least a nice light one piece camo-coverall to go with the pose ................ ah me what a disappointment
