Hello, First of all I want to apologize if this is not the correct forum to post about this. I will start by introducing myself. My name is Isidro Téllez and I’m the producer of a recently announced game: “World War II: TCG” The game is still under development and I’m currently gathering some feedback on how to improve it, focusing specially on experienced World War II history groups of players, groups of experienced board game players and groups of Trading Card palyers which are the target audience of the game, so if you are interested into discussing about the game or providing any kind of feedback about it feel free to put them in this thread, I will continue visiting it and answering/updating daily. As an introduction to the game, the game will be a free-to-play Trading Card Game inspired by the events of the Second World War, so if you are also experienced in World war history your feedback will be even more appreciated. I don’t want to go much into detail on this first post as I don’t want to bore people and wanted to first know if there would be people interested in participating. But for the moment I will attach here some screenshots about Cards Art and our in-game Interface, so if you are interested feel free to comment about them, I will also answer any question you may have about gameplay or anything related to the game! Thanks a lot in advance, hope this “little project” can work well as your feedback will be really appreciated. Looking forward to hear from you! PS: I will maybe posting this same post on other forums groups so sorry for the inconveniences this may cause!
The cards look good, but I'm not sure we can review anything or provide feedback until someone gets the game in hand. What does "free-to-play" mean? We buy the deck and then we are free to play it?
It's a game on the PC, your not buying "real" cards. Free-to-Play is the "hook", you get a basic set of cards and are immediately able to play a game. Then, if you want the better cards/gear those you have to pay for. A lot of the MMOs are switching to this business model. World of Tanks, and Navy Field for example. The 30-some second trailer is a bore, it flashes a few fancy pictures, but tells me nothing about the game. The card graphics are good, but from the looks of them, the gameplay is basic, very basic. I'll wait to pass judgement until I actually see how the game plays, but it does not look promising.
Must be honest here. I viscerally hate online games that are advertised as free, then require the investment of funds to be competivie in any way. Good luck with the game, but I'm not sure I'll play a card game vistually, especially if I have to pay to be expecet to win.
It does kinda make me want to blow the dust off the CCGs that I used to play "The Last Crusade: From Normandy to the Rhine" and "Echelons of Fury". Both came out in 1995...Geez where has the time gone.
Hey, Thanks a lot for your replies and for taking your time for researching a bit about the game, as you both point out there is still not much material to get a deep opinion about the game, we announced the game just last week and we still are developing the game but I can start sharing some screens about the game which I would love to have your feedback on. Hopefully by the end of the month we may have a gameplay video up so you can see more details about the battles. If you are still interested in discussing further about the game, I would love to have your opinion on the in-game interface, attached below, What do you think about it? is there something on a single view that throws you back? As an additional comment about the free-to-play model, Takao is right, the typical model behind is that you are able to play the game without spending any money but the payers usually get more advantages than the non-payers. We are a small studio and this will be our first big game, so we are going to adjust this model as much as possible so non-payers have as much advantages as the payers since we are looking to build more a community and a good customer relation rather than getting easy money, we are taking this really serious as we are overall gamers and tcg lovers and really want to make a good first impression! Cheers and thanks again for your feedback!
