Thought, as Mahross was lookin at new models, I would do the same for the wargamers amongst us!!! These are Crusaders latest 28mm offerings... All packs are £8 each...
Some stuff from Artizan... again 28mm... LRDG Character set... Some of their new paras... very nice. Late war Germans, to fight the Paras! And finally some Yank paras! Packs are £8.00 for eight figures...
Some stuff from Brittania Minatures 20mm Pacific range... A Ha-go light tank £5 Japanese Victory group £4.50 Some US Marines at 50pence each.
question Ross. and this has peturbed me for many many years. why do these 28mm figs have such large heads/faces ? E ~
Depends a lot on the manufacturer... Some are more realistic than others, but they tend to overdo the features to make them stand out in that scale... I know what you mean though... Sometimes they do look odd! Will post some foundry figures, they tend to be the most realistic.
Red, not Ross....sorry How about the German Fallschirmtruppen ? probably the same oversized heads in little helmets ?
nice Red ! especially the chap with the MP 40 firing. funny they remind me of midgets......no disrespect intended.. the heads just seem overpowering
OH well... Erich just offended all our vertically challenged members... I guess it just something you have to live with. I guess its to include some detail. Will post some from another company who have HUGE guns... I mean massive MP40s, they look really odd... big heads and big guns!
Some models from the GHQ 1/285th range... An 88 and tow... A Type IX U-Boat... retails at $7.75 Their new Typhoon... wicked model. Their re-modelled Tiger I... Amazing detail foe 1/285th scale. Their latest Fallschirmjager release, support weapons, in the same scale as the tanks. That means these guys are about 8-10mm tall...
Some examples of the Old Glory 15mm range... Late-war Brits, nice figs, faces look a bit weird... Some Waffen-SS... again odd faces...
Irregular Miniatures 42mm (?) range... Hmmmm.... not keen myself... Maybe if the paint job was better... Just to compare, some of the same companys 20mm range... Some yanks... And I just gotta get these two!!! Finally their 20mm Germans...
Battle Honours again... And these from their FAllschirmjager range (I have these figures!!!) These are from their DAK command and support packs... [ 10. June 2004, 03:57 AM: Message edited by: TheRedBaron ]
Some stuff from NorthStar in 1/48th scale... One shot of their recent demo game... Two figures from their new Fallschirmjager pack... In 1/48th scale these guys stand about 36mm high... Some yank paras... Sd.Kfz 250/8 Halftrack with 75mm gun... Nice! These from their Project X range... Think Castle Wolfenstien!!! SS-Rottenfuhrer Baum... Russian Zombies... SS-SturmbannFuhrer Wunsche...
Erich in all honesty it depends on the scupltors abilty and also the casting can often deform the proportions of a figure.
Some new releases from Amazon Miniatures... All 28mm releases... Two Russian Priest with PPSH A MKIII in 1/60th scale.
http://www.westwindproductions.co.uk/borbindex.asp?group=berlin%20or%20bust A very good 28mm WW2 miniatures company. I have several of their squads, very good quality and detail.
I quite agree!!! I have their British paras and Fallschirmjager and commandos! Some of their figures... all 28mm... A figure from their German veterans pack... US M4A3 Sherman 75MM WET One of their Soviet scouts... my favourite figures they do. I had a whole platoon of these, 30 fighures, and they paint up really well. I sold my platoon for £4 a figure!!! A figure from their BAR pack... Westwind figures have really action style poses and they are perfect for skirmish games. I am painting this pack up at the moment and they are very well animated. Nice figures!
Some figures from Battlefield Miniatures 20mm range... I have bought alot of these recently. They are not as 'skinny' as SHQ or as 'chunky' as Britannia. They fit well with all other manufacturers. good quality range that looks to be expanding to cover all main armies... Highly recommended!!! Some from the Berlin range... Miltary discipline, Soviet style! This set is in front of me, waiting to be painted as I type! One of those 'must have' figure sets... Dismounted Panzer crew... Germans with PPsH SMGs.
