Unhappy Re: Malvern Military Convention

I'd have loved to have gone to this but it's that time of year when 'social matters' tend to cramp my style....

Martin, there is always the Militaria 2008 show on 3rd February next year.

It is a HUGE event, so big in fact it takes almost a day to get round...well it does for me, i can't bear to pass a single stall without stopping to have a good look as to what the dealer has on offer...

Well, it's that time of year again when Malvern hosts the Great International Malvern Military Convention. This years show is on Sunday 16th November 2008 and will hopefully be even better than previous years.

I'm planning on attending the event, so I'll have to rise early on the day as it's a few hours drive to Malvern from where I live...but worth it.

Anybody thinking of going ?

I went, I saw and I bought !

Not a bad show, although previous years were better and busier. I guess the lower public attendance has something to do with the current economic climate.

Here's some photos of the event, apologies for the picture quality but I forgot my camera and had to use my mobile phone camera.

A nice Luftwaffe first aid kit

This motorcycle was a snip at £9500 !

Plenty of helmets and caps for sale

A shot of one section of the show

Red face Re: Malvern Military Convention

Well, I missed it again....

But at least I had a good excuse this year - it clashed with the Nachtjagd War Diaries launch at Telford. Looks like it was a good event, though - I always enjoy browsing through deacts even though I've avoided the temptation of adding any more to my collection for some years now.....

Wish I could say the same, I couldn't help buying a 1944 dated Russian Tokarev TT33 pistol...

I'm like a 'kid in a sweetshop' when I see all those deacts...

MGs were selling for around £700 and a PPSH could be picked up for £175.

I actually went to the show with the intention of buying a PPSH, but the ones the dealer had with him had an ugly bare metal finish rather than the normal blued finish.

The MP40s were very nice, but at £1800, they were well above my budget...
