Tried to go to the nam 9 times and nine times they trashed my request. Seems the
only fellows they sent there were those who did not want to go.
Anyway I am researching my Uncle Sam ...really, from WWII ...They kept promoting
him to Sergeant and he kept getting busted on purpose because higher ranks were
more likely to get shot at.

Stumbled in from a Google search looking for some info on the 18th INF (found the post from 2012 about Africa), my Father was in D Company 18th INF 81mm mortar crew. 1942-1945 8 Campaigns. I'm trying to follow his "footsteps" but am really interested in finding out more about what happened with him in Heistern Germany around 22 November 1944.
