Hi Hellcat, the way this typically works is that you have to guess a picture right before you get to post your own. Sunny is currently up, so if you can name her vehicle, then be my guest in posting
Sorry, didn't see her post. Must have missed it when I went through the page. thank you! sorry I'll delete my pictures. You can call me Brett if you like by the way.
Okay Couldn't find the book. but IIRC it's a command car that Rommel captured 3 or 4 of from the Brits, they're called mammots (SP?) if it's what I'm thinking it is.
hehe, are you guys having a tough time? all right hellcat.. your in the ballpark ... Rommel did capture it from the Britsh forces. that is the nickname the germans used it. die Mammot... or mammoth... The British vehicle is called the AEC Dorchester. Rommel renamed 2 of his captured vehicles "max" and "moritz" He pretty much lived in these armored command vehicles when he went out to the front there is a funny story with his mammoth. Rommel and his staff were driving around in the mammoth searching for his army. They had gotten lost in the vast desert and because it was late they decided to stay put for the night and sleep inside the vehicle. Iin the morning they would resume locating his troops.. What Rommel didn't know was that he was in British Territory. The britsh troops were passing by noticing the mammoth parked there but continued on, thinking it was one their own vehicles ...meanwhile, the commander of the Afrika Corps was sleeping peacefully stuffed in there with his command staff. When he awoke, Rommel realized he was in enemy territory, he quickly managed to drive off before the enemy noticed he was there. They didn't call him the desert fox for nothing!
Hellcat, Some tasty hints would be mighty fine.... are the remaining cockpits of the world war II era??
Corsair is right. they are all WWII era yes. the second one has a dead giveaway. look closely... the yoke... only one american fighter of the war had a yoke.
Is it the P-38? File:Lockheed P-38G cockpit looking in from left wing 061019-F-1234P-004.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Yep! here is a hint for the two left. both are made by the same company. if that isn't enough I'll be back in a couple hours and I'll give you the nickname of the company.
