There was a dogfight between some P-51s and some Russian fighters (Ya-9s I think) over Berlin which I think was the last dogfight of the ETO, a friendly fire incident.

It looks like someone took 2 rear fuselages from B-17s and made a twin-boom aircraft from them. :-?

    Its a transport aircraft designed to carry 2 x P1000 tanks :D
When it reaches the drop zone it splits in half and each wing acts as a parachute! :D :D :D

Yes, type as in for example "Flying Fortress", not the full designation and not the role of the aircraft such as "Interceptor".

Im gonna guess Hurricane becuase that is the only other Allied plane that I remember at the moment that was near the begining of the war.

By the way were there any repricussions on the Spitfire pilot?

Over to Gunter, it was a pair of Hurricanes at the Battle of Barking Creek in 1939 shot down by some Spitfires of No74 Sqn. The Spitfire pilots concerned faced a Court Martial, during which they were exhonerated and the conclusion was that it was all an unfortunate accident. One of the Hurricane pilots was killed, the other survived.

Or over to Me262, whoever gets here first...
