    Italian battleship Dante Aligheri had four triple 12" in a similar arrangement; she was also the first with triple turrets.

    The first designed with three gun turrets, the Austrian battleship, Viribus Unitis, was the first commissioned battleship to have three gun turrets.
    Much akin to the USS South Carolina, the first battleship designed with all big guns of uniform caliber(and all on the centerline), but every one remembers the HMS Dreadnought as the first all big gun battleship - because she was commissioned first.

    Dreadnought was launched in a year for bragging rights. I think I've mentioned before that firing the wing turret dead ahead would pretty much destroy the bridge?
