    No apologies for returning to my 'Berghof 1998' pics.....just picked up a copy of the German book featuring Walter Frentz' superb colour photos. Came across this one and thought it made a rather chilling 'then & now', or should I say, 'Then & Later'......

    The curve of asphalt in the bottom right-hand corner gives the game away. Hitler and Himmler setting out on a winter ramble to the teahouse.......

    Here is one of my photos from a trip in January 2010. The trees are starting to grow back (the one at the bottom of the hill in the "then" photo, a gift from Bormann, has grown back). This photo is taken from halfway up the hill, from about where the last man in the picture is walking. The walls in my photo are the back retaining walls. There's not much left of the actual structure.
