Gordon (GRW) sends in his second card, this one from his visit to Culloden Battlefield in Scotland. It's about time I did some reading into the '45 rebellion.

Incidentally, this was a very rapid delivery across the Atlantic, making it's way from post in Scotland to arrival in Texas within one calendar week.

Interesting placing of the stamp, upside-down in the wrong corner.
    :)

I went to Culloden back in 1989.
I don't go to Scotland very much.

Obviously, I've not been there, but many years ago I watched the film called Culloden. One of the most intense films I've ever seen. The atmosphere was almost frightening.

Think the clerk was just too polite to mention I hadn't left enough space at the top.

The visitor centre shows a short film in a small theatre where all the walls have a screen, and you can see the same action from a completely different angle. No idea what the technique's called, but it's incredibly effective. I know one of the redcoat re-enactors in it since he's a Stirling man.
There's also a stall in the museum where a member of staff allows you to handle actual 18th Century weapons under supervision.

Maybe Gordon has inadvertently cracked the secret stamp code to speedy trans-Atlantic delivery. I'm still a bit mesmerized by the delivery from his hand into mine in just seven days across the Atlantic.
