Help Identify the Ordnance

    I recently came across this device on my local beach and had to take photos to send to the EOD team and was wondering if anyone can help me identify it been trying for a few weeks now I don't know anything about it other than I found it on a beach in Northern Ireland.

    How large is it? I would guess (if the size is fairly small) it might be a flare of some type.

    EOD said it was some sort of mine but I have never seen a mine like that before
