ID help?

I do of course know the types of aircraft presented here, but I need some help finding out the exact sub-type.

The Harrier is a Harrier GR Mk.3 ?

I knew the Lightning was not of an early mark because of the tail, but had no idea beyond that.

 

The Harrier is a GR Mk.3, and the Museum looks like Elvington...

 

The Yorkshire Air Museum or something, but that is in Elvington isn't it?

I don't think the Tornados were there when I was there, and I'm pretty sure the Gannet wasn't.

But I do actually remember the toilet paper poster. ONE paper PER sitting, ONE sitting PER day. That was when I realised that I could never have been a pilot in WWII.

 

They had a Javelin there by the way. It didn't look completely restored, do you know if it's still there or what condition it is in now?

 

I didn't see it when I was there, otherwise I would have photographed it - I love the Javelin!

The only aircraft in history to go slower when fitted with an afterburner... :grin:

 

I'll qualify that - I love the looks of the Javelin. I admit to being largely ignorant of its performance.

 

I'm with Ricky, who cares about performance? The Javelin is just ... something else. :grin:
