Here are your photos KMZgirl. Great piece of family history here. *edit* I've no idea why the photo image appears sideways. I shows up properly aligned in it's original form.
Yes. He never really spoke of the war. He would occasionally go in his trunk to look for paperwork or something he had stashed there. As a child, I was usually stuck to his leg. Lol One day as he went through the papers, I saw this hospital menu. I'm pretty sure I remember him telling me he had malaria. This must of been when he was training the Chinese Army at Ramgarh (figured out from hat pin that only instructors wore that was discussed years ago in this thread.) Prior to that, he was training Rangers in Hawaii per the video I found on google. That is basically all I know about his service. Oh, and the last few months he was stateside in Texas as an MP on trains. San Antonio, I think. And I have the 6 month passport that only show travel in November of 42. His discharge papers don''t match the places I know he was at. Given Ramgarh was a secret facility at the time, is this why? Was his discharge paper fabricated to hide this? I have his unit number and serial number but have found nothing other than his draft card. Would it help if I posted his discharge papers? Oh, and I have all his letters home to his mother. But they have no clue on them do they since they came through, what's it called? APO? Thank EVERYONE so much for your help and listening! Mitzi p.s., mother once told me he was a ranger in a hushed tone. As a child, I had no clue what that was. But I can not find him on ANY roster. The closest I've come is finding him training rangers in that video. It was told to me on a Facebook group, that didn't mean he ever was a ranger.... Any help on any of the several areas I've talked about would be helpful. Not sure if I need to start separate threads or just leave it all here? Have a great day!
