    Hi folks

I have begun trawling for information about Liverpool and how it was impacted by WWII for a website I and a couple of others are hoping to build over the next few years. I came across this site when the google word search found the post about the batteries at Fort Perch Rock etc.

It was only launched on 3rd September and there are only a few of us involved, but we have long felt that much of the information about Liverpool, it's people and the major events around WWII have been poorly colated. Where there is plenty of info, much of it is contradictory, so one core aim is to pull together a timeline and also see if we can sort out the inconsistencies.

We need as much help as possible about everything from the Kitchen Front and Dig for Victory activities in the city-region, to things like akk akk placements and some of the other 'hard' statistics. Mainly it is about Liverpool, so though the stats are important we want to record how people lived their daily lives and coped with all the emotions war, and war being visited upon you, their distractions and as many stories as possible. I would also be grateful if any innacuracies etc are pointed out.

The web address is Liverpool at War 1939 - 1945

Cheers in advance for any replies for assistance.

By the way, it is a personal initiative, not a community or museum thing.

As an emmigrant from kirkby, long lane and ellesmere port I'm going to enjoy your site. I well remember playing on "the big gun" at New Brighton. Not the original i believe. I spoke once to one of the defence bods who told me a few tales of making big bangs in the Mersey. Wellcome to the site.
