People, I just had to share with you the news that my novel Bird's Eye View was named a Canadian Bestseller last week by both the Toronto Star, and the national Globe & Mail. It's especially exciting because this is my first novel, the only one in existence featuring a Canadian women in uniform as the main character. My heroine tavels to England, becomes an interpreter of aerial photographs, and watches the war on the continent unfold, all through the eyes of a Canadian. Because she is such a gifted interpreter, she makes several significant discoveries -- among them, the first V-1 flying bomb. That's what makes the book appealing to both men and women. You can order the book from any bookstore as a paperback, from Amazon in Canada, the U.S. and the U.K. as an ebook. You can also read more true stories about Canadians at war by visiting my blog Wartime Wednesdays here: www.elinorflorence.com/blog. Thanks so much, wartime history buffs, for the support you have shown toward me and my book!
Congratulations Elinore! Great news. It doesn't surprise me though, you Wartime Wednesdays blog is always very well written. Any book from you would be of similar quality. Is there a hardcover version?
Elinor, I really enjoyed reading Bird's Eye View as I helped send myself through collage as an aerial photo interpreter for the USGS and taught labs in it to Geology students plus my interest in the War and fondness for the UK all made it pertinent to me..And of course I read your blog. I have never done the math but it seems like Canada paid a huge per capita price for the war. Not to say the Australia and New Zealand did not as well. By all means keep writing ! Gaines
It's a trade paperback, which seems to be the choice of most publishers these days. I would love to see a hardcover version, but it may not happen. Thanks for your comment!
Yes, you can order it from Amazon.com in the U.S. and I believe you can also order it from Barnes and Noble. Thank you!
