I don't think, no I know he can't match what he has promised. People on the east coast think differently than people on the west coast, or midwest. Problem is that he would say one thing to an audiance on the east coast, head west and promise the exact opposite. In that regard he cant in any way match his promises. He is bound to piss off one group or the other. He was only concerned about gaining power.

Don't expect anything happening of any import in the economy realm for all of 2009, maybe into the early part of 2010 even. Here is one of the best breakdowns of what won't happen I've yet run across.

Curious Capitalist - TIME.com » Blog Archive Barack Obama won’t raise your taxes. At least not in 2009 «

It is really a wait and see what can be done without addressing the faultering economy first of all. Everything else is going to be second chair until that particular FUBAR is controlled.

This is what makes me :D....I reminded someone this week that for years, feminists used to bang on about 'If women ran the Country, there wouldn't be any wars...'

So Mrs Thatcher got elected - and then there was the Falklands.....

Black or white, male or female - at the end of the day they're just people and politicians will always be politicians....

Why do you call him black? I never understood this. Father: black, mother: white. He has the right to be alled black or white in exactly the same proportion. He is whiter than some caucasians I know (who have no idea there even is a Caucasus, but that's another matter, I've never been there myself!).

    :)

I don't know why, but this seems like a bit of an odd progression. I can't actually think of any nation that has completed this 'cycle'. Are there any examples of this?

    Sorry for the tangent...

    Mr. Otto
Upon further research it "appears" I've been somewhat hood-winked.
The source I repeated again appears to be a concoction of the "tastiest" parts of others, of no deeper insight than anyone else, and frosted with Olsen's "Letterhead".
The real Olsen is here Faculty - Family, Home & Social Sciences
The mix comes from a Scottish Philosopher Alexander Tyler
Follow the links and you can piece together what probably happened.
Another to follow Joseph Olson | Hamline University Law School in the Twin Cities of St. Paul, and Minneapolis Minnesota

I still like it (as a philosophy), for one "surely" sees More give me (s), than I'll do it myself (s), anywhere you want to look.
If that's not dependence, and (whether they know it or not) subjugation/bondage ... then what is?

    A sickening "Trend".

The words used are general, such as faith. Double (at least) meanings.
Faith that you'll roll a seven on the dice, short lived. Faith that you'll survive an immediately terminal illness to a ripe old age, much longer.

Bondage as being hanging/chained to a wall, pretty obvious. Bondage as in having your pay instantly deposited and then anyone who wants a piece of it removing their sums (such as a picture of your vehicle running a red light)(other bizarre ... not taxes but "revenue enhancements" that you have No (without more money & a lengthy appeal process) ability to stop, to leave you with near nothing to repeat to life's end ... not so blatant/obvious ... yet how so very different?

I'll go half a step up from Slip, and put us (the majority not all) at a solid 7 on that list.

Funny story here. A few days ago a black guy who lives in France got pulled over for driving through a red light. His name happens to be Obama, so the cop smiled and said "sorry Mr President, but you can't just drive through red lights here, now get out and don't let it happen again!" The guy never got fined

If his choice for Chief of Staff is any indication of things to come (relying on other administrations advisers), its not the type of change he advocated during the campaign.

Mel Gibson was born in New York, didn't move to Australia with his parents until he was 12 years old.
