hey guys, when you paint a tank do you paint the accesories ( jack, shovel, bars, boltcuters, fire extiguiser, etc) with the camo?
I paint all things the way they should look in real life. So for example a shovel would get a wooden stick and a (gun)metal shovelpart. Ropes would be a sort of brown, cables steel, etc. This gives the tank a real 'real-live' look. make sure you wheather the parts or give them some mud on it, so they don't look like straight-of-the-factory equipment
This is my approach too. The models I have seen with tools etc camoflaged over just look (to me) a bit un-real, and like the modeller could not be bothered to paint the fiddly bits.
If it's a factory camo, I paint the accessories differently. Many tools were painted by their makers to protect them so I try to paint accordingly. On field applied camo, the tools and accessories probably would not have been removed and therefore painted over. Especially in situations where time was short.
