Probably surrounded by about 200 guardsmen. LOL Gotta give her credit for doing her part, though! :S!

CBC Radio did a bit today about how William is her favorite, they always talk, and spent a lot of time together. It was all "William, William, William!". Would think that would make Harry feel like the red headed step child...The media seems like they are trying to create a rift or story about who the Queen likes best.
We worry about that here too. Tommy Smothers: "Mom always liked you best" | Make 'Em Laugh | PBS

Heh. The good ole "if there's no news, then create the bloody news" ploy, eh?

God save the Queen! I really like the Queen's manners and the way she does things. Many of our politcos could use some of her integrity!

    LONG may that Lady reign!

QEII has revitalized the monarchy. Drawing on the superb record of her father and mother during WW2, Her Majesty has most certainly saved the situation during Her Reign.

I am a Monarchist for one reason only. If we, in this country, are ever stupid enough to indulge ourselves in a Civil War, then the military will not split into factions, and neither will the police and other public servants....why? Because they are loyal to their boss, QEII. The Queen provides their commissions, and can easily strip them of same if their loyalty to the soverign regime is in queston. Republicanism is such a pointless beaureauxcratic exercise when we already have a functioning and stable constitutional Monarchy. Look whats happens to African Republics. The first thing that uaually occurs is the Army will split into factions, based around various 'strong men. This is how people like Idi Amin or Samuel Doe gained power, and is typical of the breakdown in Republican governments.

    God bless the Soverign!

Send Her victorious, happy and Glorious,
    Long to reign over us,
    God Save the Queen!

Yeah, but Harry's cuter than all get out and he gets to have all of the fun.....So it all equals out. :) Actually they are both attractive young men and seem to be pretty nice. Somehow I think that William probably relates to their grandmother better. Congratulations to the Queen, she has always handled herself with dignity and grace.

My dad said he should probably send a note to the Queen to let her know that although he was there for the coronation he doesn't think he'll make it for the jubilee! (He also tried to steal a swan egg, so maybe he's concerned there might still be a warrant for him!)

(I love the Smothers Brothers doing that bit where Dick Smothers tells Tommy to lower his voice, so he says it again, only in a lower voice! It cracks me up every time I see it, it's so silly.)

    Mmmm, swan's egg's.

The Smothers were considered pretty edgy back in the day. Talented guys.

Yes, before John Lennon and Harry Neilson totlly spoiled and upstaged their return to the stage. John Lennon proved what a terrible man he was. Incredibly talented musician, but not a wonderful personality.

I have an affinity for the music of Lennon. But, by gum, it doesn't blind me to what the man really was!

I haven't looked at these, other than seeing them sort of featured on a news program. But that said QEII released private documents of her only competitor for longevity on the throne. Queen Victoria's diary should make for interesting reading, and not in a salacious fashion either, just how she survived her time on the throne.

I don't know about that, but she was trained and served as an ambulance driver.

No, they were awarded MBE's (Members of the Order of the British Empire)in 1965 but returned them in protest at Britain's involvement in Vietnam. Didn't stop MacCartney later accepting one again later, as well as a knighthood though.
The Queen certainly did drive an ambulance-
